Sept 4th, 2008 COA Meeting

•Called to order by Doug Murphy at noon

Membership/Budget Update
Jan Stiles – gave update – thanks to Susan for helping $3,200 in bank
11 people have paid dues - $3,213.86

Committee Updates
  • CESR – Classified Employees Salary Schedule
  • TAC – big decisions this year are printing and refurbish computers from Big CATS Project
  • Override Election – how to share factual information – exempt employees, can they be involved - (kgrd@cox.net) contact Kathy if you want to join a PAC – Doug to get a feel for can we be involved on our “own” time from Dr. K.
  • General Information – Kathy on Legislative Community Network, Jane on keeping tracks of committees, pretty good participation. Consistency and communication on our committees, like interest based negotiations. Chris Rossini to update and clarify on Memorandums of Agreement.

Agenda Review – Anne Greenburg to get award, other schools, most everything by exception, homebound instruction, donations, Intellectual Property, Property Tax rates

Meeting with Dr. Kriekard – Dr. K to present his goals at Governing Board tonight – all COA goals due after first quarter (Transition of new Supt is one goal, budget gloom/gloomier, zero-based budgeting??, October 24th budgets due)

Membership Advantages/Members at Large – paying membership have privileges?? – due paying members

Silent Auction Proceeds – Proceeds to go to PV FoodBank Back Pack program and with donation of John C. Lincoln dontation, total up to about $5,000

June 12, 2008 - COA Meeting

Membership Budget Update - budget is solid

Committee Updates (Jane Tate is responsible for committees - send info to her if you want on agenda to update)

Jane gave update on how committees worked - loosely defined.

Executive Board to look at "annual" committees - Jane to post committees in ConnectMe
IFAS - HR is working hard and fast to meet July 1st cutover.  Payroll is feeling very confident about July 1st.  Payroll and HR to be closed 1/2 time over the next couple of weeks.  Accrued vacation and sick leave is to be shown on all paychecks.  Absence tracking should show real time on dashboard.

Agenda Review
Doug went to first Agenda Review - some issues - most will probably go by exception.
PSD to work with ASU on teacher development.
Issue - Cabinet and Administrator compensation.

Administrative Asst's In Service
Monday 9-11am for Directors to participate in this meeting, if you are interested.  Purpose of meeting is to see who wants to be involved in the InService.

Administrative Asst's Breakfast
Urgent: July 23rd - $15 for you, and $15 for Assistant: send checks c/0 DOA - Susan Benjamin.
SMHS is location of breakfast.

All Admin Social
Urgent: July 24th - about $13 a piece. send checks to Susan like above, needs a minimum participation of about 50 to go.
Black Canyon Conference Center - the All Admin meeting is during the day, social is at same location in evening.

COA dues can be paid at any time, $50 c/o COA, and send to Susan or Jan Stiles.

August 7 is next COA meeting at Ivory meeting.  All meetings for 08/09 will be at Ivory room, and will start at 12:00pm, with lunch starting at 11:45am (per motion that passed).
